Module Code:

Module Title:
Extended Practice
Learning Outcomes:

BRIEF TITLE: Spilt Milk
BRIEF NUMBER: Brief 13

Brief:
To design and produce the branding and some packaging for a new (first in a franchise) Milk Shake bar in the centre of Leeds.

Background:
The Milk Shake bar will be located in a great spot in the City Centre on Briggate. It is the first shop to open in what will hopefully be a fun and exciting chain across other towns and cities in Yorkshire. Spilt Milk is a down to earth and relaxed brand that offers a range of tasty milk shakes and treats that can be enjoyed in the bar which is a comfortable and relaxed environment – perfect or social dates and catch ups or even a quick treat at lunch time.

Considerations:
Spilt Milk is a friendly brand and should be reflected in the visual identity and general aesthetic of the Milk Shake Bar. The bar will sell milk shakes to have in or take out and small treats like cookies and sweets so this should be something to consider when thinking about the packaging and labels that needs to be produced. With the Spilt Milk being a new brand and bar, it is important that this is communicated through the branding.
Consider the audience and what will appeal to them. What might they look for in a new brand? What will entice them? What will make them choose Spilt Milk over another option.
If possible, some sort of phrase would good?

Mandatory Requirements:
Research into the appropriate areas – food and drink, branding, packaging and location. Design work and development. Final products – range of packaging and branding appropriate for the visual identity.

Tone of Voice:
Young, fun, fresh and inviting.
